About Us
Commemorating Sport Legacy in Brockville & Area
Our Story
Welcome to Brockville & Area Sports Hall of Fame, a place where sporting legends are forever celebrated. Our mission is to honour the greatest athletes, coaches, contributors, and teams whose achievements have made a profound impact on the world of sports. Through their hard work, dedication, and passion, these individuals have set the highest standards of excellence, and we are proud to share their stories with future generations.
Our History
In 1976, Bruce Wylie had the idea of honouring the top athletes and
contributors in the sports scene of Brockville and area. The first
inductees to the Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame were Bunny
Bradfield, Jim Cunningham, Jack Giffin, Charlie Publow and Don Swayne.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Sports Hall of Fame was not
re-introduced until 1993, but it has honoured the area’s sports stars,
coaches and volunteers since then.
The Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame looks to honour worthy
individuals who have given a lifetime of excellence in sports, whether
it is through their own performance or those who have devoted their time
to ensure others are able to enjoy local athletics.
The Sports Hall of Fame boasts an impressive array of talented
individuals from the local, provincial, national and world stage in a
wide variety of amateur and professional sports. It is an impressive wall of plaques and a television that scrolls through the plaques of inductees in the lobby of the Brockville Memorial Centre.
